Culture on the Doorstep is a project for increasing the cultural engagement of students within their immediate neighbourhood.
This toolkit was developed from a collaborative project that involved two schools – Greenmount Primary School and Seacroft Grange Primary School – their teachers and students, cultural practitioners, academics at the University of Leeds and Leeds33 Cultural Education Partnership.
This project ran for 12 months in 2023 and, following an external evaluation of its success, we have brought together the key learnings to help other schools engage in this type of initiative. This toolkit shares examples of activities that can be used in schools to develop your pupils’ cultural knowledge and skills.
