The summer holidays have officially started, and the kids are raring to go explore! Not sure where to go or where to find relevant information? Well read on!

In Leeds, there’s lots of activities to dive into. We’ve selected a few comprehensive resources to share with you to make your search for your next summer activity that much easier.

For a view of all the possible activities to enjoy in Leeds, both Leeds Inspired and Child Friendly Leeds have created a page where all the information is available in one place. Leeds Inspired’s Event Collection: Summer Holiday’s in Leeds will keep you regularly informed about events ranging from exhibitions to carnival, including dates, whereabouts in Leeds, and booking information. Additionally, The Child Friendly Guide to Summer in Leeds presents events July through to August on one page, available both on your devices and to print. A blog is constantly being kept up-to-date with the latest news and developments, and more information about their Summer Challenge is available through the QR code on their page.

Speaking of challenges, Leeds Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is underway! Children aged 4 to 11 are welcome to take part and earn rewards for reading. With the 2024 theme of ‘Marvellous Makers’, a programme of events has been made across libraries in Leeds, alongside activities such as the art and dance workshop ‘Hello Hip Hop’, and ‘Hebocon!’ making the world’s best worst robot!

Celebrating 20 years, Breeze in the Park 2024 offers children and young people loads of exciting activities to get stuck into in local parks throughout Leeds, in sessions from 12noon – 2:30 and 3pm – 5:30pm. Priced at 50p entry per child and offering an interactive play system, arts zone, food and inflatables, why wouldn’t you want to stroll to your local park to enjoy it all?

On another note, for budding young musicians, ArtForms Summer Music Clubs are back with subsidised music workshops for children and young people! These events offer opportunities to learn new instruments, develop skills and play with other musicians, so there’s something for every musician to enjoy.

With so much to enjoy over the summer in Leeds, you’ll never be at a loss on how to get the kids out and about! We hope you have a summer filled with laughter and fun.
